To help keep your Crown College account secure, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is required when signing into your Microsoft 365 account. MFA adds an extra layer of security by requiring a second form of verification—usually a text message, phone call, or an authenticator app.
Setting Up MFA
To get started, sign in to a Microsoft 365 application. We recommend visiting www.office.com as the easiest place to begin. You can also sign in through Outlook, Teams, or other Office apps.
Once you sign in, Microsoft will walk you through the MFA setup process. Follow the on-screen steps to complete setup.
If you get stuck, you can:
- Watch the instructional video below
- Email helpdesk@crown.edu

*it is HIGHLY ENCOURAGED that when setting up authentication methods you follow the prompts on a computer and use your phone as the authentication device, doing both steps from a single device will often confuse the system.
Changing Phones or Phone Numbers?
If you get a new phone or change your phone number, you'll need to contact the Crown College Help Desk to reset your MFA. This will also update the phone number we send MFA codes to.
